Professor Denis Oswald is a highly regarded member of the international sports community.
Besides his active role as Director of the Centre International d’Etude du Sport (CIES), he is an Executive Board Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), President of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations, President of the International Rowing Federation and Head of the Co-ordination Commission for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
He is an arbitrator for the Court of Arbitration for Sport and is a member of the Université de Neuchâtel Faculty of Law.
Denis is himself an accomplished sportsman, having participated in three Olympic Games as a rower (including receiving a bronze medal).
