Massimiliano MONTANARI
Director of International Cooperation and External Relations of the ICSS
Massimiliano Montanari is the former Head of the UNICRI Centre for Public-Private Security Policies, and of the International Permanent Observatory on Major Events Security, where he established regional cooperation mechanisms to enhance security for major events. He received a gold medal from the Beijing Public Security Bureau for his support during the security preparations of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games and provided assistance to security planners for the 2011 Pan American Games in Mexico, the G8 Summit in St. Petersburg, and the 2007 Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean. Massimiliano previously worked for the UN Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force (CTITF), UN Terrorism Prevention Branch (UNODC) and the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).
He has an Undergraduate Degree in Political Science and a Masters Degree in Advanced International Legal Studies.
