EU citizens and citizens from some other countries (Andorra, Australia, Canada, Honduras, Island, Israel, Japan, Liechtenstein, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, San Marino, South Korea, Switzerland and the United States) do not need a visa. Everybody else must apply for a visa for study purposes via the German diplomatic representation in their home country. You must not under any circumstances travel to Germany on a tourist visa.

QEM prospective students who are scheduled to first study in Germany should apply for a special student hybrid visa (Student Visa C+D). If you do not live in your native country, you may apply from your residence country if you have a residence permit. If you do not have a residence permit from your residence country or if you live in your native country, you must apply from your native country. You apply at the relevant German Embassy or Consular Services. We suggest that you inform us as soon as possible which Consulate you will apply at, so that we may explain mobility particularity of the programme to them before you arrive to apply for your visa. Please email : qem@univ-paris1.fr.

This hybrid visa is necessary so that you may attend the necessary administrative first week in Paris before traveling to Germany.

Please note: it can take as long as two month to process a visa application! Further information can be found on the DAAD's Homepage Opens external link in new window(http://www.daad.de/deutschland/zulassung/visum/04694.en.html) and are also available from the German diplomatic representation in your home country.
