Grading

For each course, the final grade is given in the form of a percentage ranging from 0 to 100. This percentage is then converted to an alphabetic grade using the following scheme:

Overall results are summarised by a Grade Point Average (GPA) ranging from 0 to 4. Each partner university will transmit grades under the alphabetic system (having first converted the grade if the local grading system differs). For the purpose of computing a student's GPA, alphabetic grades are weighted as in the above table.

To be permitted to proceed to the next semester, a B average (i.e. GPA above 3.0) calculated over the past semesters is required. To earn the degree, a B average over the two years is required.

In the event of a GPA below 3.0 at the end of a semester, students will be put on academic probation to allow for exceptional situations.

In the event of receiving an F mark, students are required to repeat the course before graduating. This F mark is then replaced by the new grade and will not appear on the degree. If a student receives two F marks, they are expelled from the programme, unless the student has already repeated the course to replace the first F mark. In that case, they still need to replace the F mark but are able to continue. If a student fails the same course twice, they are expelled from the program.
