Erasmus Mundus Scholarships

The Erasmus + Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) scholarships are provided with the support of the Erasmus+ EMJMD programme of the European Union. They are EU funded scholarships to support students regardless their country of origin and residedence to study selected MA programmes, including QEM. 

The starting and ending dates of the call for application to the EMJMD scholarships appear on this page. You can take part in the selection of EMJMD scholarships according to the selection criteria indicated on the following page.

The application to an EMJMD is done through the Online Application Form, at the same time when you apply for the QEM Master Program. You need to precise your wish to be considered as a Scholarship Applicant in the approriate section [Page C of the Statement of Purpose document (File [2])].

In order to make the program more attractive for Third-Country nationals, the amount of the full-study scholarship will be higher for Partner country students than for Programme country students. More specifically:
 

• Erasmus+ Partner country students: students whose nationality is one of the Erasmus+ Partner Countries, i.e. non-EU countries with exception of Turkey, FYROM, Norway, Lichtenstein and Iceland; and, who fullfil the residency & 12-month rule: who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, training or work) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in a Programme Country. The five-year reference period for this 12-month rule is calculated backwards as from the submission deadline.

• Erasmus+ Programme country students: Students with a Partner Country nationality who do not fulfil the Partner Country criteria defined above (residency + 12-month rule) i.e. Students whose nationality is one of the 28 Europeean counties: Erasmus+ Programme country students: Students with a Partner Country nationality who do not fulfill the Partner Country criteria defined above (residency + 12-month rule) i.e., Students whose nationality is one of the 28 European counties: Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, United Kingdom, AND Iceland, Liechtenstein, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Norway, Turkey, and Serbia.

Additional essential criteria and information for EMJMD eligibility

• 12-month residency rule: Applicants who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, training or work) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in a Programme Country, count as Partner country students. The five-year reference period for this 12-month rule is measured backward as from the submission deadline of the Erasmus Mundus scholarships defined by the QEM consortium and indicated on the following page.

• Turkey, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway entered the Erasmus+ Programme as "Programme Countries". Applicants who are nationals of these countries will be considered as Programme Country Students. This means that applicants from these countries have to apply as Programme Country Students (not as Partner Country Students) and will receive the corresponding scholarships.

• Double Nationality: Students with a double nationality (of a Partner and of a Programme Country) must specify the nationality under which they submit their scholarship application. This means you can freely choose the Nationality under which you want to apply.

• Full-time enrolment: The Erasmus Mundus scholarships are awarded to cover the entire duration of the Master QEM course. It is exclusively granted for a Full-time enrolment in one of the course editions.

• Applicants who have already obtained an EMJMD scholarship or are former Erasmus Mundus Master/Doctoral Course scholarship holders are not eligible for an additional scholarship under the EMJMD action.
• Students benefiting from an EMJMD scholarship cannot benefit from another EU grant while pursuing their EMJMD studies.
• No more than three students selected for the scholarship can have the same nationality.
• A candidate can only apply to a maximum of 3 different EMJMD programs

* Contribution to travel, visa, installation and other costs for Students from Erasmus+ partner countries: (1) 2,000 EUR per year for travel costs + 1.000 EUR (only 1x) for installation costs for scholarship holder resident of a Partner Country whose location is situated at less than 4.000 km from the coordinating Higher education institution (HEI), that is University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne; (2) 3.000 EUR per year for travel costs + 1.000 EUR (only 1x) for installation costs for scholarship holder resident of a Partner Country whose location is situated at less than 4.000 km from the coordinating Higher education institution (HEI), that is University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

** Monthly allowance for living costs (€ 1,000 per month): 1.000 EUR per month for the entire duration of the study programme (24 months maximum).

Warnings regarding our master economics scholarship :

1) The contribution to the travel costs takes into account the residence (not the nationality!) of the scholarship holder.

2) Contribution to subsistence costs will not be given to the scholarship holders for periods (study/research/placement/thesis preparation) spent in their country of residence. In the case of QEM programme this means that residents from Spain, Germany, France and Italy will get no contribution to their subsistence costs during the semester(s) that they are spending in their home country.
